Alzheimer’s Disease
“There is hope and help for individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease through the principles of integrative medicine including nutrition, targeted vitamin therapy and antioxidants” – Dr. Kurt Woeller
An estimated 5.3 million U.S. citizens of all ages have Alzheimer’s disease as of 2013. This includes 5 million individuals over the age of 65, and approximately 200,000 under the age of 65.
AD is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States, and the 5th leading cause of death for people over 65 years of age. Alarmingly, 1 in 3 seniors will die with AD or some other dementia. In the United States, senior deaths in general from other major causes (such as heart disease – down 16%) have been declining, while deaths from AD have increased – up 68% between the years 2000 to 2010.
Like many chronic health disorders it is important to evaluate underlying problems such as biochemical imbalances, chronic infections, environmental factors, etc. when looking at a disease such as Alzheimer’s Disease. In fact, research is showing that many people with AD can improve with various vitamin therapies such as methylcobalamin and L-methyl-folate. This is part of our program to help individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease
